About

I am a lecturer, artist, and researcher working across visual culture, media history, and experimental practice. My work explores the intersections of technology, identity, and aesthetics—often tracing overlooked or marginalised forms such as VJing, cybernetic art, and textile-based systems.

With a background in both critical theory and creative practice, I investigate how media—analogue, digital, and hybrid—shape cultural narratives, particularly in postcolonial and institutional contexts. My current research focuses on media archaeology, the canonisation of video art, and the visualisation of systemic inequality through computational and textile forms.

Teaching is a central part of my practice. I encourage students to interrogate the cultural, political, and historical dimensions of design, moving image, and art-making. My approach combines rigorous theoretical grounding with hands-on experimentation, fostering dialogue between past and present, screen and thread, code and craft.

I hold various research and practice-based qualifications, and my academic work is informed by a longstanding commitment to experimental and collaborative modes of making, particularly through audiovisual performance, the application of systems design and digital image-making.
