On any journey, there is always a beginning. And this is certainly true for these 4 very early sound works I’ve pulled from deep within the archive, collected under the name, Coin Operated Britain. They are inspired by conversations I had with my pal and artist Jamie Cooper about post-capitalist possibilities and futures. They are my first experiment with Digital Audio Workstations, sometimes called DAWs, and they chart my learning with Ableton Live. Cheesy? Yes! A bit rough around the edges? Absolutely! But I include them here to firstly show some sense of vulnerability at the start of any learning journey, and secondly to demonstrate that every skill begins with inexperience.
